About the Role

As a Software Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain web applications for a healthcare automation platform. You will collaborate across teams to deliver scalable solutions used by GP practices daily, driving innovation in healthcare automation and ensuring measurable value for practices and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain customer-facing applications using Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
  • Build responsive, accessible user interfaces that simplify complex healthcare workflows.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver high-quality features from concept to release.
  • Develop and integrate APIs and backend services.
  • Work with SQL databases and cloud services to support scalable application architecture.
  • Contribute to system design discussions and technical decision-making.
  • Write automated tests to ensure reliability and maintainability.
  • Contribute to end-to-end testing using Playwright.
  • Participate in code reviews and help improve engineering standards.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues with a focus on root-cause analysis.
  • Deploy and maintain applications within Azure.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
  • Monitor application performance and reliability using modern observability tools.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, product managers, and fellow engineers to understand user needs.
  • Contribute ideas that improve both the product and the development process.
  • Foster a collaborative, pragmatic engineering culture.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong experience with Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
  • Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server preferred).
  • Familiarity with modern source control and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with C#/.NET development.
  • Experience with Playwright or other automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience working within Azure.
  • Experience in healthcare, NHS, or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with application monitoring and observability tools.
  • Experience working in a SaaS or scale-up environment.
  • Product-minded and user-focused.
  • Pragmatic, collaborative, and delivery-oriented.
  • Takes ownership and sees work through to completion.
  • Enjoys solving real-world problems with technology.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving scale-up environment.
