About the Role
Wilson Elser is seeking a skilled and motivated Employment, Labor & Education Litigation Associate to join our growing litigation team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a nationally recognized firm and provide comprehensive legal counsel to a diverse range of clients across public and private sectors in employment, education, and labor law.
Responsibilities
- Manage a litigation caseload, from inception through resolution.
- Represent employers across a wide variety of industries with employment law issues, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract and collective bargaining litigation issues.
- Provide day-to-day legal advice and training to clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment, education and labor laws.
- Collaborate with Partners and senior attorneys on complex matters and trial preparation.
- Regularly handle and participate in court appearances, mediations and depositions.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and strategic guidance.
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in the State of New York
- 3-5 years of litigation experience with a focus on employment law
- Experience handling discrimination and wage and hour claims under federal, state, and local laws
Skills
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
