About the Role

The Associate will support existing and emerging grantmaking programs, initially focusing on the strategic and operational needs of the AI and Advanced Computing team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the full lifecycle of the grant process, from proposal intake to final reporting.
  • Review applications for compliance and programmatic fit, and coordinate external reviewers.
  • Communicate with nominators and applicants throughout the selection process.
  • Assist in the logistics of the selection process for potential awardees.
  • Serve as a point of contact for the grantee network, ensuring they have necessary resources.
  • Support the planning of convenings and workshops.
  • Develop and coordinate public-facing resources to communicate awardees' research and impact.
  • Compile data and materials for project and program evaluations.
  • Develop evaluation criteria and execute comprehensive evaluation processes for projects and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field preferred but not mandatory if strong technical literacy is demonstrated.
  • 2–3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in operations, consulting, project management, or knowledge of AI academic research is a plus.
  • Comfort with modern office suites (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office) is required.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Sheets (pivot tables, complex formulas) and/or Airtable is highly desired.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple timelines and complex administrative processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear summaries.
  • Proven problem-solvers and self-starters.
  • Demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence and computer science.
