About the Role

A warm, close-knit family in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, seeks an energetic, engaged, and loving nanny/family assistant for their two young children. Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, loving care for their 8-month-old son.
  • Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities, outings, classes, and walks.
  • Support their daughter's before- and after-school routine as needed.
  • Occasionally care for both children when Mom is out or needs additional support.
  • Assist with occasional evening routines and bedtime.
  • Be comfortable carrying and caring for an active baby, including navigating stairs.
  • Support the children's development and daily routines.
  • Work closely with Mom to divide and conquer throughout the day.
  • Keep the kitchen and common areas tidy.
  • Handle children's laundry.
  • Organize kids' rooms, toys, closets, and play areas.
  • Help keep track of and properly store children's belongings.
  • Unpack packages and put away groceries.
  • Wash and prepare produce.
  • Prepare simple foods for the baby.
  • Assist with light household organization and tidying related to the children.
  • Occasionally walk the family's dog when not responsible for the children.

Requirements

  • Prior professional childcare/nanny experience.
  • Experience caring for infants and young children.
  • Strong references.
  • Ability to safely care for and physically handle an active infant.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with parents and adapt to a family-oriented household.
  • Flexibility around occasional schedule changes and evening hours.
  • Comfort working approximately 8:00/8:30 AM–6:30 PM on most weekdays.
  • Comfort around dogs.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel with the family is strongly preferred.
  • Must be comfortable working around extended family.
