About the Role

RDG partners with Britain’s train operators to deliver essential services and dedicated experts that keep the nation's railway running efficiently. As we embark on a new era for rail, we are looking for a Solutions Architect to join us. Responsibilities

• Design technical solutions to meet business objectives.
• Define a path through technical challenges during program inception through to delivery.
• Adapt architecture and communicate changes to stakeholders.
• Take ownership of parts of the solution space.
• Define the architecture using well-known diagrammatic representations (C4, UML, BPM etc) as well as textual descriptions and verbal presentation of your design.
• Adapt the style of your designs to meet different audiences (technical, business, public).
• Participate in discussions about your designs with the rest of the architectural team, articulating and defending the reasoning of your design, as well as conceding to consensus to accommodate the teams’ views.

Requirements

• Proven experience creating technical documentation for the issuing of, or in response to, large competitive tenders.
• Ability to translate from requirements to design and from design to requirements.
• Proven experience architecting multiple solutions through to delivery.
• Collaborative and constructive attitude to designing as part of a team.
• Experience designing solutions spanning edge, cloud and user interface.
• Familiarity with payment industry jargon and process.
• Experience working within the public transport sector in as a supplier, operator or transport authority.

Salary/Compensations

• £59031 - £80,077 per annum
