About the Role

The Asset Protection Specialist supports the safe, secure, and efficient operation of the yard, primarily during business hours. Key responsibilities include verifying customer invoices against materials leaving the property, monitoring yard and gate activity, performing CCTV observation, documenting incidents, and conducting security rounds to protect company assets and maintain a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and address safety issues or contact appropriate management.
• Maintain areas around the Guard Shack, Gates, and Corporate Building during snow/ice events.
• Observe propane station operations for safe dispensing.
• Monitor personnel entering/leaving for security and safety.
• Observe departing trucks/vehicles for safety issues.
• Address parking issues as needed.
• Verify customer invoices against products/materials leaving the yard.
• Operate primarily from the guard shack/checkpoint area.
• Monitor and document truck and customer traffic.
• Conduct limited CCTV observation.
• Check in/out vendor trucks/vehicles and provide directions.
• Handle onsite emergencies and provide traffic control.
• Manage emergency phone calls from Branches and notify appropriate departments/management.
• Notify EMS/Police/Fire in case of emergencies.
• Respond to alarm calls and address as needed.
• Assist with incidents.
• Mentor fellow employees.
• Perform spot checks of inventory.
• Check customer propane tanks for expiration and condition when not alone.
• Provide directions to customers and vendors.
• Complete assigned projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• NYS Certified Security License preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to analyze customer needs and recommend the proper course of action.
