About the Role
The Senior Internal Auditor, reporting to the Deputy Director of Assurance, will deliver risk-based assurance and advisory reviews across the National Church Institutions (NCIs). This role is crucial for providing independent assurance on risk management and control effectiveness, contributing to the overall mission of the Church of England.
Responsibilities
- Deliver risk-based assurance and advisory reviews across the National Church Institutions.
- Evaluate governance, risk management, and internal control arrangements.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in organizational controls.
- Deliver Internal Audit (IA) engagements from planning through to reporting.
- Produce clear, evidence-based findings and practical recommendations.
- Contribute to the development of the annual IA plan.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of IA methodologies.
- Promote effective risk management practices across the NCIs.
Requirements
- Experience in delivering risk-based assurance and advisory reviews.
- Ability to evaluate governance, risk management, and internal control arrangements.
- Skills in identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Proficiency in delivering Internal Audit engagements from planning to reporting.
- Capability to produce clear, evidence-based findings and practical recommendations.
- Experience contributing to annual IA plans.
- Experience in continuous improvement of IA methodologies.
- Experience promoting effective risk management practices.
