About the Role

We are a world-class quantitative trading firm using machine learning and advanced data engineering to drive our strategies. We are establishing a new trading operation focused on UK prediction markets and the US sports market, seeking an ambitious Technical Lead to build this operation from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and own the development of low-latency data and trading infrastructure across multiple platforms.
  • Develop automated execution and order-management systems.
  • Build infrastructure for deploying quantitative models and trading strategies into production.
  • Create systems for managing positions, capital, risk, and exposure.
  • Develop research and simulation tooling for testing new strategies.
  • Implement monitoring and observability for a live, automated trading operation.
  • Build integrations with new exchanges, data providers, and other external systems.
  • Design and build critical systems while providing technical supervision, engineering standards, and mentorship.
  • Shape the architecture, technology, and development practices of the team.
  • Decide what the team should build, its sophistication, and where engineering effort will have the greatest commercial impact.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience, including Python.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating complex production systems.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, data structures, concurrency, networking, and distributed systems.
  • Ability to diagnose difficult performance and reliability problems.
  • Strong technical judgment and ability to balance speed, simplicity, performance, and maintainability.
  • Ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly and lead less experienced team members.
  • Willingness to remain hands-on while providing technical leadership.
  • Ability to use AI and AI-generated code effectively and responsibly.
