About the Role
Oversee revenue recognition and reporting for the group, ensuring accurate processing and documentation. Produce monthly management accounts with detailed financial insights. Play a significant role in budgeting and forecasting, collaborating with finance colleagues. Perform specific balance sheet reconciliations, focusing on accrued and deferred income. Provide business partnering support for NetSuite users and financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Group’s revenue recognition processes, including accurate processing and management of project revenue.
- Collaborate with the wider business to ensure the sales pipeline is current and precise, utilising and maintaining Power BI reports.
- Produce accurate and timely management accounts packs each month, providing insightful commentary and analysis regarding the business’s financial performance.
- Play a pivotal part in the budgeting and forecasting of revenue and gross profit.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations on all accounts associated with gross profit, particularly those relating to deferred and accrued income, utilising NetSuite Advanced Revenue functionality.
- Post project cost journals and manage related accruals and prepayments.
- Reconcile payroll and bonus accruals.
- Work in partnership with Accounts Receivable to ensure administrative fees and rechargeable expenses are billed and reported correctly.
- Provide NetSuite support to the business, with a specific focus on assisting NetSuite project managers to ensure all projects are established correctly from the outset.
- Offer business partnering support to Client and Practice Leads across the organisation.
- Contribute to the audit process by preparing audit schedules and responding promptly to audit queries.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant with experience in a management accounting role
- Strong NetSuite experience
- A curious mindset and an appetite for innovation, in particular to harness the benefits of AI
- Experience in managing revenue recognition
- Strong Excel and modelling skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong task management and prioritisation skills
- Personal motivation to work without constant supervision, and to see tasks through to completion
- Some flexibility in terms of working hours will be required from time to time due to the international nature of the role
- Experience using NetSuite’s Advanced Revenue functionality (Desirable)
- Experience working in an international organisation across time zones (Desirable)
- Experience working in a professional services / management consulting environment (Desirable)
