About the Role
The Education GmbH is seeking a technically proficient, structured, and responsible individual to lead the IT team and manage system administration. This role involves operational system administration, IT support, project work, and the coordination of a small IT team, overseeing an IT environment for approximately 220 users and 700 devices across various educational and administrative settings. A key focus will be the expansion of Jira Service Management as the central service and ticketing system.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and coordination for an IT team of two employees.
- Manage and enhance the operational IT environment for kindergartens, schools, and administration.
- Administer and develop the IT environment supporting approximately 220 users and 700 devices.
- Manage and administer central systems including Microsoft 365, Entra ID / Azure AD, Intune, SharePoint, networks, WLAN, firewalls, telephony, and Jira Service Management.
- Advance Jira Service Management, including administration, workflow design, automation, and portal structure.
- Ensure structured user, rights, device, and license management.
- Handle IT support requests at the first and second level.
- Provide technical support to the team for complex technical issues.
- Plan, prioritize, and execute IT projects throughout the year.
- Coordinate external IT service providers and align technical requirements.
- Manage budget planning, cost control, and prepare decision-making bases for management.
- Develop IT standards, documentation, handouts, and internal processes.
- Advise departments and institutions on digitalization and IT needs.
Requirements
- Completed university degree in IT or a completed IT apprenticeship (e.g., Fachinformatiker/in for System Integration) or equivalent qualification.
- Solid experience in system administration, preferably in a Microsoft-centric IT environment.
- Excellent knowledge of Jira, particularly Jira Service Management.
- Practical experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID / Azure AD, Intune, and SharePoint.
- Good knowledge of user, rights, device, and license management.
- Sound understanding of networks, WLAN, firewall basics, and IT security.
- Experience in IT support and structured handling of service requests.
- Ability to provide technical leadership to a small team, prioritize tasks, and establish reliable processes.
- Experience in planning and implementing IT projects.
- Structured, solution-oriented, and independent work style.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical topics understandably to diverse audiences.
- Experience with automations and workflow design in Jira Service Management (desirable).
- Knowledge of PowerShell or comparable administration and automation tools (desirable).
- Experience with IT documentation, asset management, or CMDB structures (desirable).
- Experience collaborating with external IT service providers (desirable).
- Basic knowledge of telephony, Mobile Device Management, backup, endpoint security, or firewall administration (desirable).
- Experience in the environment of education, social institutions, administration, or support structures (desirable).
