Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and document software systems.
- Develop new features, enhance existing features, and maintain programming code, including bug fixes.
- Write maintainable, clean, re-usable, object-oriented, and efficient programming code.
- Work within source control, utilizing branching, merging, and proper check-in procedures.
- Practice Test Driven Development (TDD), creating unit tests before writing code.
- Resolve software bugs and modify unit tests to prevent future regression.
- Perform various types of software testing, including black box, white box, integration, functional, and performance testing.
- Work within department processes and procedures.
- Peer review programming code and participate in code reviews.
- Learn and understand the technical details of all relevant products.
- Contribute new ideas during developer meetings.
- Utilize code coverage, code metrics, and other tools to improve code quality.
- Raise concerns to management and team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
- MS degree is a plus.
- Educational or real-time work experience with a relational database management system (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) creating relational database objects.
- Experience with debugging techniques (e.g., breakpoints, watches).
- Experience with a version control system (e.g., GIT).
