Responsibilities

• Ensure patient identification, safety, and preparation before starting scans, documenting relevant patient history.
• Inform supervisor of unusual or abnormal scans.
• Set up and adjust ultrasound equipment according to established protocols.
• Monitor supplies and notify supervisor of shortages.
• Perform Echocardiograph procedures.
• Ensure and monitor all quality control assessments are performed as required.
• Observe and report malfunctions in Ultrasound equipment.
• Follow manufacturer's guidelines for equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain required log books for routine equipment maintenance.
• Sign all required documentation.
• Ensure abnormal and urgent cases are handled according to departmental guidelines.
• Clean, tidy, and disinfect Ultrasound equipment and change rooms.
• Ensure log books are maintained and fire and safety regulations are followed.
• Follow established health and safety procedures.
• Comply with all Company and Government Regulations.
• Maintain continuing educational requirements for ongoing A.R.D.M.S. certification.
• Assist other staff members under the direction of the Supervisor/Clinic Manager when workload is completed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of related experience.
• R.D.M.S. or equivalent certification and provincial equivalent, if applicable.
• Ability to perform all types of echo procedures on various types of ultrasound equipment.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training.
• Demonstrate effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Have a cheerful, positive attitude and the ability to work effectively with others.
• Ability to work independently and treat everyone with respect, dignity, and kindness.
