About the Role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance on assigned property grounds and buildings, including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, and HVAC systems. This role also ensures equipment functions properly and keeps grounds clean.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine maintenance on building and ground systems.
- Cleans and assists with the upkeep of the facilities.
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair and makes or ensures timely repairs.
- Troubleshoots issues and determines necessary repairs in conjunction with Community Manager and Regional Manager.
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance with approval.
- Maintains the ground of assigned property by performing essential landscaping duties such as cutting grass and snow removal.
- Ensures common and public areas, such as sidewalks, are always clear of trash and foliage.
- Keeps all storm drains clear of foliage and debris.
- Prepares property for various weather conditions, such as salting sidewalks and common areas.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
- Experience with lawn equipment is a plus but training will be provided.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- 75% or more of the time will be spent walking around assigned properties on a daily basis.
- Physical demands of this job typically require full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Frequent need to utilize transportation to inspect assigned communities.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Experience Level
- One to two years of related experience preferred.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
