About the Role

Wood Thilsted (WT) is a world-leading engineering consultancy specializing in offshore wind farm development. We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join one of our UK offices to provide support to projects across our portfolio of work.

Responsibilities

  • Solving civil engineering problems related to the planning, development, design and construction of offshore wind farms
  • Designing and technical management of offshore geotechnical site investigation campaigns
  • Specifying and processing laboratory test results (advanced and cyclic)
  • Preparing geotechnical interpretive reports and geotechnical design profiles
  • Soil structure interaction and geotechnical foundation design assessments
  • 3D finite element modelling
  • Foundation installation assessments
  • Prepare Design Briefs and engage in certification processes
  • Support technical leads on projects from concept stage through to detailed design
  • Engage in R&D activities
  • Develop in-house engineering software

Requirements

  • Master's degree or PhD in civil, geotechnical engineering or equivalent
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Strong drive, initiative, and responsibility for assignments
  • Motivated by creating excellent results through teamwork
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a professional engineer
  • Highly numerate
  • Experience with design codes / guidelines such as API, Eurocode, DIN, DNV-OS-J101
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with clients and other consultants effectively
