About the Role

Onto Innovation is a leader in process control, offering advanced technologies for semiconductor manufacturing. This role provides critical on-site and remote applications support to customers, helping them solve complex manufacturing process challenges using Onto Innovation's steppers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site and remote applications support to customers.
  • Assist customers in solving problems related to the application of Onto Innovation steppers to their manufacturing processes.
  • Support the Applications Lab in Taiwan and HQ for live demos and execution.
  • Interface with external customers and internal departments to determine equipment specifications.
  • Perform experiments and analytical investigations under senior engineering guidance.
  • Report and interpret results of experiments, tests, and studies.
  • Aid in the design and development of new equipment or redesign of existing systems.
  • Communicate with sales and internal departments to determine customer needs.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to support customer process and applications issues.
  • Generate data for conferences and magazine articles with Marketing.
  • Demonstrate systems to customers and provide training.
  • Travel up to 80% with extended stays at customer locations.

Requirements

  • Master or Associates degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years process engineering experience with wafer or panel manufacturing facility.

  • 3 years hands-on experience with inspection tool (DFLY or FFLY a plus) and knowledge of inspection & metrology.

  • Support inspection demo lab experience.
  • Good English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with limited direction and take initiative.
  • Ability to function under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team in the field.
