About the Role

This role supports the growth of Control Risks’ advisory and risk consulting practice in Japan and globally. It focuses on developing client relationships, driving practice growth, and ensuring quality service delivery for crisis management, business continuity, enterprise risk management, and security risk management engagements. Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the region is crucial.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business continuity, crisis management, and ERM projects from initial client contact through project closure.
  • Cultivate and deepen client relationships with security and risk buyers, becoming a key point of contact.
  • Identify, nurture, and win new business development opportunities.
  • Manage and deliver security consulting and services engagements across Asia, utilizing regional teams.
  • Develop and mentor junior staff, ensuring skills transfer and coaching.
  • Collaborate with country management, marketing, and other practices to build a strong brand.
  • Represent Control Risks as a thought leader through market engagement, social media, professional organizations, and industry events.
  • Seek innovative ways to improve client services.
  • Ensure practices, policies, strategy, and services align with client best interests.

Requirements

  • Experience in a corporate/consulting environment with multinational companies in Japan and globally.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage professionals.
  • Strong commercial expertise, analytical skills (financial management, legal, contractual), and leadership.
  • Ability to rapidly build relationships with senior-level clients and consultants globally.
  • Experience in a multi-cultural environment with demonstrated cross-cultural awareness.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial/operational conditions across South Asia.
  • Experience in business continuity, crisis management, risk assessment following international standards, or security planning and framework development.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing crises and/or complex problems.
  • Demonstrable experience applying risk management methodologies (e.g., ISO 22301, ISO 31000, SOC 2, ISO 27001).
