About the Role

The External Investing Group (XIG) is responsible for identifying, researching, and selecting leading third-party investment managers. The Associate will assist in sourcing, analyzing, and executing investments throughout the entire deal process, taking on substantial responsibility and being a crucial component to the deal teams and investment decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive due diligence processes for direct investments and fund commitments
  • Create financial analyses, waterfall models, and internal memos to assess potential investments
  • Understand market trends and develop industry perspectives through research and market sector reports
  • Assist in proactively sourcing new investment opportunities
  • Analyze, monitor, and manage current portfolio holdings
  • Attend conferences and industry events to build personal networks and enhance firm relationships
  • Assist in various operational activities

Requirements

  • BA/BS from a leading undergraduate institution
  • 2-3+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, venture capital, or private equity
  • Excellent research and analytical skills including a proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Curious and open mind for technology trends, products, and business models across multiple segments
  • Passion for understanding venture capital and technology from an investment, legal, and operational perspective
  • Adaptive team player with a collaborative working style
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
  • Proactive attitude with flexibility to take on special projects
