About the Role
This is a new hybrid role combining fitness, reception, sales, and commercial development. You will take a lead role in driving membership sales, following up prospects, and identifying new opportunities to increase income, becoming the go-to person for sales at the site.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of new membership sales and convert enquiries, tours and prospects into memberships.
- Proactively follow up leads and drive prospecting activity.
- Manage PIF and annual membership renewals.
- Support debt collection and reducing outstanding membership balances.
- Identify opportunities to generate additional income across the club.
- Bring forward new ideas and initiatives to improve revenue and commercial performance.
- Monitor sales activity and support the wider team in achieving their sales targets.
- Work closely with the General Manager on sales campaigns, strategy and commercial opportunities.
- Deliver inductions and personalised fitness programmes.
- Provide support, advice and technique correction on the gym floor.
- Deliver and cover gym floor-based classes.
- Build strong relationships with members and provide excellent customer service.
- Respond to member enquiries and deal with complaints professionally.
- Support member retention through proactive engagement and an outstanding member experience.
- Handle reception and membership enquiries.
- Process memberships and payments.
- Complete opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and systems.
- Complete health, safety and maintenance checks.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Report faults, incidents and maintenance issues.
Requirements
- Previous sales or commercially focused experience.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification, or be working towards one and able to achieve it by the end of probation.
- A genuine interest in health and fitness.
- Confidence discussing memberships and commercial opportunities with customers.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership and get things done.
- A willingness to learn, develop and bring fresh ideas.
