About the Role

The Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI) is seeking a Junior Officer for Science Communication and Monitoring to support the CZS KID doctoral college at its Berlin location. This role involves conceptualizing and implementing science communication formats, accompanying events, supporting young researchers' publications, website maintenance, and assisting with monitoring activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and implement various science communication formats in collaboration with the GI communications department and involved chairs/researchers.
  • Write texts for different media, including social media, magazines, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Provide communication support for events.
  • Assist editorial teams of young researchers in creating their own publications.
  • Maintain the website using the Typo3 content management system.
  • Participate in the college's monitoring team, including conducting surveys and tests, and collecting quantitative data.
  • Regularly process monitoring data related to the college's progress, such as event data, publications, and reach.

Requirements

  • Completed university degree.
  • Initial experience in public relations, communication departments, or editorial offices, ideally with a focus on scientific topics.
  • Initial experience in evaluation and monitoring, with the ability to contribute to ongoing monitoring settings.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and topics.
  • Open personality with enjoyment for scientific and editorial work.
  • Structured, reliable, and proactive work approach.
  • Willingness to undertake nationwide business trips to various university locations.
  • Empathetic and clear communication skills.
  • Very good written and spoken German skills.
  • Good written and spoken English skills.
