About the Role
This role is suited for candidates with a background in Software QA or Test Automation looking to transition into software development. You will be supported through hands-on mentoring, real development work, and training towards becoming a Pega Certified System Architect (CSA). As an Associate Pega Developer, you will help build scalable customer service solutions for millions of banking customers while learning the Pega low-code platform. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gradually take ownership of features, contribute to test automation, and develop into a well-rounded software engineer.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance low-complexity features on the Pega platform, including workflows, UI components, business rules, and integrations.
- Contribute to improving our test automation landscape by implementing and maintaining automated tests to reduce manual testing effort.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and senior developers to translate business requirements into maintainable technical solutions.
- Learn modern software engineering practices including code reviews, agile development, and collaborative problem solving.
- Continuously expand your knowledge of the Pega platform and work towards your Pega Certified System Architect (CSA) certification.
- Participate actively in team ceremonies, knowledge-sharing sessions, and engineering discussions while learning from experienced colleagues.
Requirements
- First professional experience in Software QA, Test Automation, Software Development, or a related technical field.
- Experience working with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Serenity, WebDriver, or comparable tools.
- Practical experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar).
- Good understanding of software testing principles and different testing approaches, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Basic Java knowledge or experience with another object-oriented programming language.
- Curiosity to learn new technologies and develop into a Software Engineer on the Pega platform.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- A collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for improving software quality and engineering processes.
- First experience with the Pega platform (Nice to have).
- Experience working in regulated industries such as banking, insurance, healthcare, or telecommunications (Nice to have).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS (Nice to have).
- Experience contributing to Agile software development teams (Nice to have).
