About the Role

At C1 Green Chemicals, your models directly support process concepts that move from equations to pilot-scale reality, influencing real decisions and having a measurable impact on sustainable chemical process design.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run steady-state and/or dynamic process simulations
  • Integrate and adapt kinetic sub-models within existing simulation environments
  • Support early-stage technical assessments of process concepts
  • Assist with CAPEX/OPEX estimations using existing templates and assumptions
  • Document assumptions, calculation paths and results in a clear, reproducible way
  • Develop small programming tools or scripts for data handling, analysis or reporting
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and lab teams

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program (chemical engineering, process engineering or similar)
  • Mandatory internship as required by your study regulations
  • Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, reaction engineering/kinetics and separations
  • Hands-on experience with process simulation software (e.g. Aspen Plus/HYSYS, gPROMS)
  • Python skills (NumPy, Pandas, plotting, basic automation)
  • Analytical mindset, structured documentation and strong ownership of your tasks

  • Compensation according to company standards

About the Company

  • Develops and scales new chemical processes from lab to pilot scale.
  • Teams span catalysis, synthesis, engineering and technical operations.
  • Simulation plays a key role in deciding which technologies are built, tested and scaled – not as theory, but as a practical engineering tool.
  • Re-inventing chemistry by developing disruptive chemical production processes from the atomic level up to production scale.
  • Explores new chemistries by employing quantum-chemical simulations and transfers them into proprietary production technology.
  • Designs green processes based on renewable feedstocks & energy, enabling closed carbon loops.
  • Supports industries in their net zero journey with climate-friendly chemical technologies.
  • Proprietary C1 methanol technology unlocks green methanol production.
