About the Role

Perform a full range of custodial duties related to the cleaning of an adolescent residential substance abuse treatment facility. Must act as a role model for patients and be alert to unusual activities to report to management.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures including sinks, urinals and toilets.
• Wash windows, mirrors and walls.
• Clean and sanitize showers as assigned.
• Replenish supplies in the restrooms.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors.
• Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean desks and counter tops.
• Empty, clean and sanitize waste receptacles.
• Pick up papers and other debris.
• Move and arrange furniture and equipment.
• Set up rooms for conferences and meetings.
• Replace lights and adjust shades and blinds.
• Regulate ventilation and temperature.
• Clean air vents as required.
• Identify and report building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.
• Monitor building security and safety by being alert to and reporting any unusual activities.
• Perform tasks such as locking doors after operating hours.
• Check electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.

Requirements

• Must act as a role model for patients.
• Must be alert to unusual activities that are to be reported in a timely manner to management.
• Regularly required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
