About the Role

This Treasury Sales Officer role involves managing a portfolio of subsidiaries of US-headquartered Commercial Banking clients in Japan. Success is defined by new sales wins, revenue growth, and retention within a predefined portfolio as a corporate sales consultant across treasury, trade, and FX.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of the subsidiaries of US HQ-ed Commercial Banking clients in Japan.
  • Achieve new sales wins, revenue growth, and retention within a predefined portfolio as a corporate sales consultant across treasury, trade and FX.
  • Engage key decision makers of the largest and most demanding clients and advance relationships holistically.
  • Build material relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
  • Work closely with the APAC Regional Treasury Sales team, other regions, and the GCB banking team to deliver solutions to clients.
  • Pro-actively approach sales by sending unsolicited proposals and leading client engagement and pitches/presentations.
  • Respond to RFPs (Requests for Proposal).
  • Constantly review client names to ensure they achieve and maintain hurdle profitability levels.
  • Identify and implement revenue opportunities for assigned names via cross-sell opportunities through ongoing client discussions.
  • Coordinate with implementation and service teams to ensure smooth implementation and high client satisfaction.
  • Ensure timely resolution of relationship-sensitive client servicing issues within the organization and act as the senior escalation point.
  • Complete ad-hoc projects related to the Global Commercial Banking business or the larger Global Payments Solutions organization.

Requirements

  • Relevant cash and trade sales or relationship management experience within a top tier international/regional bank.
  • Familiarity with nuances of the Japanese market, including applicable rules and regulations for foreign companies.
  • Proven track record in managing complex cash and trade deals for multinational corporations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English and Japanese.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong inter-personal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to successfully develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
  • Strong financial skills.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Treasury functions.
  • Strong client engagement skills with an unwavering focus on client satisfaction and growing business.
  • A team player who understands how to leverage various businesses functions/partners to drive business growth and support global client management and sales teams.
  • Willing to travel within the country and APAC.
