About the Role
The Campaign Executive plays a media-focused and team support role, requiring the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and respond quickly to requests. The role involves developing a clear understanding of team requirements and objectives, maintaining a proactive attitude, and providing support to the team.
Responsibilities
- Assists the team with client account and project management, establishing TEAM LEWIS as a valuable partner.
- Offers advice and recommendations on media opportunities and tactics to clients and the team.
- Coordinates client communication, including meetings and reviews, ensuring deadlines and service agreements are met.
- Participates in new business pitches by providing research support and coordination.
- Assists with the coordination of press tours, events, and review programs.
- Understands and follows the news agenda, positioning clients and products within the broader news narrative.
- Researches and identifies appropriate journalists, bloggers, and analysts on an ongoing basis.
- Develops and strengthens media relationships for self and the team.
- Monitors relevant news sources and alerts the team to breaking news opportunities.
- Identifies strong news angles and media opportunities.
- Secures ongoing media opportunities such as columns and Q&As.
- Organizes and coordinates media interviews and press briefings.
- Drafts a variety of written materials including biographies, briefing documents, media alerts, soundbites, Q&As, backgrounders, and boilerplates.
- Creates press materials and compelling content for traditional and digital media.
- Develops briefing sheets to assist clients with their press communications.
- Understands and develops knowledge around finding good news angles or hooks.
- Adapts and refines writing style to suit client needs.
- Works with content specialists to ensure consistent quality for all written content.
- Provides social media execution and management of related digital activity.
- Implements and maintains social media communities, campaigns, and projects for digital clients.
- Develops compelling digital content and integrated campaigns for clients.
- Contributes to client growth and impact across social media channels.
- Produces social-first copy for all channels using appropriate techniques and language for each platform.
- Ensures personal and client objectives are met.
- Accurately reports activity levels and completes timesheets.
- Escalates new business requests to appropriate team members and acts as a first point of contact for external inquiries.
- Works with line manager to maximize strengths, improve weaknesses, and support career development.
- Supports the training of graduates and interns.
- Attends TEAM LEWIS training sessions and daily press briefings to enhance skills.
- Tracks and reports on media activity, including coverage reports, press clippings, and online media engagement.
- Ensures all account activity and results are reported to senior staff.
- Communicates account performance internally at account reviews.
- Provides reports to the Campaign Director or senior management team upon request.
- Supports the Campaign Servicing team on ad hoc initiatives and projects.
- Takes a proactive role in promoting the TEAM LEWIS brand, its identity, values, and work.
- Supports the HR/talent team by promoting internal and external opportunities at TEAM LEWIS.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of systems, practices, and policies.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in a B2B, corporate, consumer, or digital communications environment at a Campaign Coordinator or Campaign Executive level.
- Attention to detail.
- Proven written ability in English and local languages.
- Creative thinking.
- Understanding of client business issues and requirements.
- Highly developed presentation skills.
- Thorough knowledge of media: print and broadcast.
- Understanding of market research and analysis.
- Ability to delegate effectively.
- Calmness under pressure and ability to achieve tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to keep abreast of current affairs and relate them to client situations.
