About the Role

NTT DATA Australia is seeking expressions of interest for a Forward Deployed AI Engineer (FDE) – Agentic Workforce Transformation. This client-facing role involves architecting, building, and deploying agentic AI workflows and autonomous digital workers within top-tier Australian enterprises, transitioning them to dynamic, multi-agent systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate in embedded, cross-functional client teams to identify high-value operational bottlenecks and prototype, test, and deploy production-grade agentic AI solutions.
• Design and implement multi-agent frameworks, task orchestration pipelines, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures, and tool-augmented LLM workflows.
• Map, decompose, and re-engineer complex business workflows into collaborative human-in-the-loop and fully autonomous AI worker roles.
• Bridge cloud infrastructure, enterprise data pipelines, and frontier AI models with secure API integrations.
• Function as a trusted advisor to C-suite and technology stakeholders, translating complex AI concepts into clear business cases and risk-managed rollout strategies.
• Rapidly evaluate, adopt, and integrate emerging frameworks as the agentic ecosystem matures.

Requirements

• Practical understanding of LLM capabilities, prompt engineering, agentic orchestration, tool/API usage, memory management, and evaluation frameworks.
• Demonstrated track record of quickly mastering new technologies, switching domains, and solving ambiguous, unstructured problems in fast-paced environments.
• Exceptional ability to articulate technical tradeoffs, build consensus with executive leadership, and guide organizations through technological disruption.
• Experience fine-tuning models, building RAG systems, vector database management, and deploying production ML pipelines.
• Expertise in modern data stacks, ETL/ELT pipelines, real-time data streaming, and enterprise data governance.
• Strong foundation in cloud-native design (AWS, Azure, or GCP), serverless architectures, microservices, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven experience in management/technology consulting, process re-engineering, target operating model (TOM) design, and enterprise change management.
