About the Role

Develop and deliver world-class technical training programs for internal employees and customers. Instruct classroom and hands-on lab courses, contribute to course and certification development, and support training equipment and lab operations. Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure training content reflects the latest technology advancements. This role requires an independent professional to solve complex technical challenges, lead cross-functional projects, mentor team members, and drive continuous improvements in learning effectiveness and training delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Teach technical training classes covering theory and hands-on skills on advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Support training and certification development, implementation, and ongoing learning activities with a global technical training team.
  • Utilize current learning technologies to enhance learning both online and in-house.
  • Support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of local lab training tools.
  • Manage day-to-day operations tasks for the local training organization.
  • Present technical training in-house and at customer sites, focusing on specialized/customized courses, requiring domestic and international travel.
  • Manage classroom/lab activities to ensure course objectives are met, and present and practice safety per procedure.
  • Stay current with internal technology advancements by working directly with business units.
  • Manage multiple projects of diverse scope and complexity and direct project team members.
  • Utilize Technical Publications and System Product Business Groups to maximize technical documentation efficiencies.
  • Create and augment documentation to fill gaps in released materials.
  • Evaluate instructor performance and train others in standard course development processes.
  • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting skills to assist with system repairs.
  • Ensure system functionality supports course objectives and all safety retrofits are installed on training systems.
  • Maintain product technical knowledge sufficient to prepare and present defined product courses.
  • Disseminate new information to staff and complete certifications on multiple platforms/processes.
  • Actively certify others and establish new certification requirements.
  • Review published materials and recommend revisions.
  • Provide coaching and leadership to other instructors and serve as a mentor for class delivery, technical development, and certification.
  • Anticipate, prevent, and resolve customer satisfaction issues.
  • Support Instructional Designers as a Subject Matter Expert in developing new courses and correcting existing materials.
  • Proactively drive improvements in training content and delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent military training or experience.
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, equipment engineering, field service, technical training, or a related technical role.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and equipment operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems independently using sound engineering judgment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or providing technical leadership to peers and junior team members.

Skills

  • Semiconductor field experience in Epitaxy and Implant on Applied Materials tools (a plus).
  • Experience developing, delivering, or supporting technical training programs, certification programs, or knowledge transfer initiatives (preferred).
  • Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to effectively train diverse technical audiences.
  • Experience working with learning technologies, instructional development processes, or technical documentation (a plus).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across global organizations.
  • Semiconductor field experience supporting Epitaxy and Implant processes on Applied Materials equipment (highly desirable).
