About the Role

NRMA Marine is seeking casual or part-time Masters <45m to join their team. This role involves the safe and diligent management of the vessel and crew during preparation, operation, and completion of voyages to meet required standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe navigation and operation of the vessel, complying with maritime regulations and company guidelines.
• Maintain and update vessel systems and keep accurate paperwork.
• Manage crew, including attendance and performance.
• Ensure passenger satisfaction and safety, directing crew as appropriate.
• Enforce vessel security, managing threats, breaches, emergencies, and screening.
• Manage the crew to ensure the vessel is clean, safe, and in good order for service.
• Manage crew compliance with maritime regulations, Code of Conduct, and Responsible Service of Alcohol, including training and drills.
• Possess full knowledge of Safety Management Systems and promote a safe work culture.

Requirements

• Current Master <45m (minimum)
• Current MED2 (minimum)
• Certificate of Local Knowledge (Port Jackson)
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current Certificate of Medical Fitness (AMSA or equivalent)
• Current Working with Children's Check
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (desirable not essential)
• Sound line handling and seamanship skills
• High level of self-motivation and organisational skills
• High level of personal presentation
• Proven interpersonal skills and strong communication ability at all levels
• Demonstrated ability to maintain vessel machinery and auxiliary systems
• Demonstrated vessel handling skills
