About the Role
Support people with disability to have the choice, control, and independence to live their best life. You will support people with disability living in shared housing, providing various supports including personal care and daily living. Successful candidates should be experienced and confident in working within a varied environment which may include behaviours of concern, high medical needs, high intensity daily personal activities and heavy hoisting and manual handling.
Responsibilities
- Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
- Provide assistance with High Intensity daily personal activities
- Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
- Maintain thorough record keeping
- Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
- Advocate for client choice and control
Requirements
- Experience working with people with disability
- Previous experience working behaviours of concern
- Prior experience working with high medical needs
- Confidence in driving a wheelchair van
- Manual Handling and Hoisting experience
- An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check
- Obtain an NDIS Clearance
