About the Role
Niagara University's College of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach sport management at undergraduate and graduate levels. The role involves curriculum development, research, student advising, and service, leveraging industry relationships to enhance student learning.
Responsibilities
- Teach in various aspects of sport management at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Engage in scholarly and practical research.
- Advise undergraduate and graduate students.
- Provide service to the University, College, Sport Industry, and community.
- Support a collegial work environment.
- Serve as an example of the College's Code of Professionalism.
- Shape curriculum in new ways, utilizing industry relationships.
- Create experiential opportunities and internships for students with sport organizations.
Requirements
- Hold at least one undergraduate or graduate degree in sport management or business.
- Hold a doctoral degree in an applicable discipline from accredited institutions.
- For those at the doctoral degree completion stage, a strong record of industry experience and outreach is required.
- Provide evidence of strong teaching skills, both in person and through online instruction.
- Demonstrate a progressive research agenda.
- Possess breadth in teaching expertise.
- Have the ability and expertise to teach in two or more of these areas: financial management, sport law, and governance.
