About the Role
This integral role provides a high level of service to guests and presents an amazing opportunity to play a key role in the world’s largest W Hotel. The Welcome Supervisor should be able to balance the needs of their team, their guests, and the business itself, while maintaining a focus on excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Process all guest check-ins, verifying guest identity, form of payment, assigning room, and activating/issuing room key.
- Review shift logs/daily memo books and document pertinent information in logbooks.
- Assist staff with expediting problem payments.
- Anticipate sold-out situations and obtain satisfactory alternative accommodations when the property cannot accommodate guests with reservations.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping to track readiness of rooms for check-in.
- Run daily reports (number of arrivals, departures), identify any special requests, and check reports for accuracy.
- Ensure rates match market codes, document exceptions.
- Secure payment prior to issuing room key, verify/adjust billing.
- Compile and review daily reports/logs/contingency lists.
- Complete cashier and closing reports.
- Provide guests with directions and property information.
- Accommodate guest requests, contacting appropriate staff if necessary.
- Follow up to ensure requests have been met.
- Process all payment types, vouchers, paid-outs, and charges.
- Balance and drop receipts.
- Count and secure bank at beginning and end of shift.
- Notify Loss Prevention/Security of any guest reports of theft.
- Assist management in training, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model.
