About the Role

Deliver product to customers safely, professionally, and courteously, including invoicing and collecting payments. Delivery Drivers start at $22/hour and transition to a salary plus commission pay structure after approximately 3 months of training. Annual safety incentives are also available.

Responsibilities

• Operate a vehicle and deliver assigned orders.
• Maintain vehicle condition through regular inspections and reporting.
• Ensure vehicle safety and protect loads by adhering to company policies and regulations.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the delivery truck interior daily.
• Uphold a safe and clean working environment.
• Manage customer relationships effectively.
• Collect payments from customers and reconcile assigned loads with receipts and delivery invoices.
• Properly invoice deliveries, obtain necessary signatures, and ensure complete documentation.
• Perform duties safely by following established rules and regulations.
• Collaborate with Salesmen and Merchandisers to exceed customer expectations.
• Deliver orders and stock products according to company standards.
• Contribute to team efforts to achieve related results.
• Engage in safe and responsible interactions with the public.
• Handle products responsibly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of related work or educational experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Ability to develop and grow relationships.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Excellent PC/Laptop/iPad skills required.
• Experience navigating database software, order processing systems, and spreadsheet software.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to attain and maintain a NYS Solicitor’s permit.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Ability to regularly talk or hear.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs. and/or move up to 250 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Occasional exposure to changing work environments including cold, wet, and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.
• Travel to various client accounts such as convenience stores, grocery stores, bars, and restaurants.
