About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Assistant General Manager (AGM) to help lead our water view Sonesta Select San Francisco Airport Oyster Point Waterfront hotel. The AGM plays a vital role in driving Outrageous Hospitality, creating memorable guest experiences and meaningful team growth. The AGM works closely with the General Manager to oversee day-to-day hotel operations, build engagement, and ensure smooth, efficient processes. In the GM's absence, the AGM assumes full responsibility for the property's leadership and performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all Front Office operations, including guest service, reservations, and night audit.
- Maintain the highest level of guest satisfaction scores and employee engagement.
- Partner with department heads to maintain and continually improve service standards, operational efficiency, and profitability.
- Manage daily accounting functions, including daily income journals, bank deposits, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting support.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to ensure financial goals are achieved.
- Maintain compliance with brand, company, and safety standards.
- Lead, coach, and mentor team members to create a positive, accountable, and hospitality-driven culture.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
- Serve as Manager on Duty and assume full responsibility for hotel operations in the absence of the General Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of successful hotel management experience (Department head level and higher)
- Proven leadership ability with experience managing and developing teams.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting hotel accounting, budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and expense control.
- Demonstrate ability to lead, train and develop hotel teams.
- Experience managing front office operations, guest service, scheduling, night audit, and service recovery.
- Background with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, or Hyatt select service brands.
- Experience with hotel accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
