About the Role
This role focuses on supporting services functions, including facilities, repair, and maintenance. It involves operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing mechanical components and systems such as electrical equipment, HVAC, and plumbing. This is a technical role requiring specialized knowledge and skills gained through vocational education, training, and experience. It is a senior-level position that requires broad operational knowledge and the ability to work with limited supervision, analyze complex problems, and potentially train lower-level employees.
Responsibilities
- Performs installation, preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Responds to, evaluates, and rectifies problems with HVAC equipment and systems, pneumatic and digital controls, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, and other miscellaneous HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Follows work orders, drawings, diagrams, other specifications and/or verbal instructions.
- Plans, installs, inspects, tests, and maintains/repairs systems and/or equipment.
- Checks completed work to ensure system/equipment is properly functioning.
- Develops and follows a preventative maintenance schedule.
- Responds to repair calls, analyzes problems, and makes recommendations for and/or repairs.
- Maintains necessary records and reports.
- Requisitions necessary equipment and supplies.
- Moves materials as necessary in the performance of duties or as directed.
- Detects and reports improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follows safety rules and regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current HVAC/Refrigeration License.
- Three (3) years of experience as an HVAC Technician.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and tools, climb ladders, carry supplies, moderate to strenuous.
- Frequent exposure to dust, hot and cold temperatures.
- Repeated bending, squatting, stooping.
- Prolonged standing and walking.
- May be exposed to hazards from use of electrical, electronic, mechanical equipment and power equipment.

- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
- Technical knowledge of mathematics and measurements.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to solve complex problems.
- Ability to operate hand and stationary power tools in a safe manner.
