About the Role
VOA Upstate New York's Children's Center services provides educational programs focused on early childhood development and school readiness for children 6 weeks through 12 years old. The center serves more than 500 children and families annually and offers support services such as a full-time Registered Nurse, family development services, parent training, full-day care, and disability supports.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing active, fully engaged supervision of the children at all times.
- Provide coverage in any classroom as needed to maintain ratios.
- Help to meet each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs.
- Assist in maintaining classroom cleanliness and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Organize and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities under the direction of the classroom teacher, reinforcing educational goals and attending to individual needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum of one year of classroom experience with the applicable age range required.
- Ability to pass OCFS Complete Background Check including SEL, SCR, and DCJS fingerprinting.
- Knowledge of NYS OCFS regulations strongly desired.
