About the Role
Installs, repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots telecommunications network equipment, supporting data infrastructure transmission media and components.
Responsibilities
- Installs copper, fiber optical cable, and coaxial cable into conduit pathways and trenches to complete voice/data communication circuits.
- Installs voice/data components such as telephones, TTDs, modems, FAX machines, hubs, and switches.
- Installs raceways, bracketry, racks, cabinets, and other hardware to support network configurations.
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs voice/data circuits using testing equipment.
- Maintains records and documentation for network telecommunications installation, operations, maintenance, and changes.
- Reads and understands schematic diagrams and translates them into installations.
- Maintains knowledge of current marketing promotions and special events.
- Ensures work area is clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained.
- Establishes and maintains professional working relations with internal and external guests.
- Attends and participates in meetings as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 0 to 2 years of related experience.
- Hands-on experience with tone generators and probes required.
- Basic knowledge of telecomm technicians' butte set for line test and number attainment.
- Thorough knowledge of voice/data concepts, including EIA/TIA and EEIA standards.
- Ability to successfully complete a voice/data circuit from schematic to operation.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret schematics, plans, blueprints, procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Good organization skills.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail, multitask, and manage time.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented, and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
