About the Role

The Security Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization’s security program. This role ensures the protection of information assets, monitors security events, manages incident response, and leads a team of security analysts to maintain a strong security posture across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the Security Operations Team.
  • Develop and implement security operations policies and procedures.
  • Provide management, coaching, training, and support to team members.
  • Oversee security monitoring, alert management and event response activities.
  • Manage Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR), and other security technologies.
  • Oversee vulnerability management, including vulnerability scanning, risk assessment, remediation tracking and reporting.
  • Participate in security awareness initiatives and organizational cybersecurity planning.
  • Work closely with the Information Security Manager on training and strategy.
  • Maintain knowledge of, and compliance with security frameworks and regulatory requirements such as NIST, CIS Controls, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOX.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, cloud, and network teams to implement security best practices.
  • Conduct threat hunting and collaborate with threat intelligence providers.
  • Coordinate investigations of cybersecurity incidents and ensure timely containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Manage and monitor Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions.
  • Develop security metrics, dashboards, and executive reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 6+ years of experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge in Security Operations Center Management
  • Experience managing enterprise security tools including SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, and email security platforms
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and risk management practices
  • Working proficiency of Windows, Linux, Active Directory, Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft 365, and cloud security
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable collaborating with co-workers, management, and vendors
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated initiative, and ability to work independently with minimal instruction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to inspire and guide teams to achieve objectives
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to repetitively use a telephone, computer mouse, and keyboard for extended durations
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
