About the Role
The Membership Sales Representative is responsible for developing leads, providing information to prospective members, and enrolling new members. This role also assists management in meeting membership and financial objectives, while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Meet monthly membership sales and services goals.
- Respond to membership inquiries via phone and email, booking appointments for prospective members.
- Provide enthusiastic and informative tours of the center.
- Educate prospective members on the benefits of health and wellness.
- Present membership options and pricing.
- Complete all new member paperwork, including application and orientation.
- Track and report daily membership sales.
- Contribute to lead generation by distributing promotional materials.
- Develop relationships to ensure client success and encourage referrals.
- Attend management meetings, trainings, and retreats.
- Generate leads for the Corporate Sales Department and develop new corporate accounts.
- Provide ongoing maintenance for assigned corporate accounts.
- Maintain and submit a commission log each pay period.
- Make follow-up calls to prospective members who missed appointments or have not yet enrolled.
- Administer emergency care to members and guests.
- Work collaboratively with all other departments.
- Be knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered.
- Promote club services and activities.
- Assist with maintaining club cleanliness and stock.
- Attend site meetings and trainings.
- Handle injury, illness, and security incident reporting.
Requirements
- Previous health club experience is a plus.
- 2 years of sales, client success, or account management experience preferred.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Customer service oriented.
- Committed to the fitness industry/environment.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and highly responsive.
- Results-oriented.
- Ability to multitask.
- AED/CPR/First Aid Certified.
- Ability to take responsibility for the health and safety of others.
- Ability to stand for several hours in a shift.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Must follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standards.

Salary/Compensations
- $18.00 - $22.00 per hour (DOE); + up to $2250.00+ monthly sales commission potential; Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay depends on factors including site location, specialty, certifications, work experience, and other business needs.
