About the Role

As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Instructor, you will provide high-quality classroom, laboratory, and hands-on clinical instruction that prepares students for New York State CNA certification while instilling professionalism, confidence, accountability, and a passion for caring for others. This role is critical in shaping the future of students and the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that meet New York State CNA curriculum requirements.
  • Teach classroom, laboratory, and hands-on patient care skills.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide coaching and feedback to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and certification records.
  • Prepare students to successfully complete certification requirements and begin rewarding healthcare careers.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with fellow instructors and staff to ensure student success.
  • Incorporate current healthcare best practices and industry standards into instruction.
  • Serve as a mentor and positive role model for students as they develop both technical and professional skills.

Requirements

  • Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Required (non-negotiable)
  • Minimum of two years of experience working as a CNA, LPN, or in a related healthcare field.
  • Experience teaching, mentoring, or training others in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
