About the Role

The food and beverage management team orchestrates the guest dining experience by leading a team of passionate individuals. The goal is to create an ambiance where locals and visitors feel at home, with managers actively present on the floor during service to impact the guest and staff experience.

Responsibilities

  • Train, monitor, and develop a team of talented individuals through a consistent training program.
  • Monitor and track information flow from superiors and other departments, distributing it to hourly teammates.
  • Manage communication between guests and all involved areas, including special requests, guest needs, service issues, and recovery opportunities.
  • Clearly communicate expectations to the team each shift and maintain consistent messaging.
  • Handle guest issues directly, troubleshoot, and empower team members to resolve issues while remaining actively involved in solutions.
  • Maintain a strong floor presence to understand floor operations and guest interactions.
  • Keep the team on track, energized, and focused on impacting the guest experience.
  • Balance the needs of the team, guests, and business, adapting to changing needs and business levels.
  • Manage time effectively between floor presence, training, and business deliverables.
  • Monitor the floor, conduct training, and provide consistent leadership.
  • Complete schedules to balance business needs and labor profits.
  • Monitor inventory controls, P&L, waste of product, china, glass, and equipment.
  • Handle daily tasks including scheduling, staff adjustments, driving revenue, checking duties, monitoring uniform and grooming standards, and ensuring Virgin standards and protocols are practiced.
  • Organize onboarding, deliver consistent training, conduct daily sit-downs with new members, and ensure timely completion of exams.
  • Ensure new members are correctly entered into the time and attendance system and have necessary tools and supplies.
  • Adhere to hiring and disciplinary process protocols.
  • Comply with all safety and health department procedures and all state and federal liquor laws.

Requirements

  • Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the USA.
  • Food Service Handler Card and TIPS certification valid for a minimum of 6 months.

Experience Level

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a full-service restaurant or lounge in hotel management preferred.

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
