About the Role

Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for complex Homeowner's Claims, determining coverage, damages, and negotiating claims within authority. This role involves creating comprehensive damage estimates for complex first-party homeowner claims and may involve mentoring junior employees.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits mastery estimating fundamentals to create estimates of damages on complex 1st party homeowner losses.
  • Builds mastered relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Interprets regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
  • Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments, and documents all activities.
  • Applies mastered content in interpretations of all policy types and assists leadership in training.
  • Recommends process improvements.

Requirements

  • Must reside within Westchester, New York or Rockland, New York.
  • Strong background handling high-volume and complex homeowners claims, including losses up to $250K.
  • Expertise in writing and reviewing complex repair estimates.
  • Experience managing high-value properties.
  • Ability to own claims from start to finish across all exposures (dwelling, contents, ALE, mitigation, and supplements).
  • Preferred insurance carrier experience with field exposure.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with independent adjusters and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Collaborative approach.
  • Ability to navigate complex loss scenarios such as storm, water, and hail claims.
  • Proven track record of providing excellent customer service, including supporting escalations.
  • As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
