About the Role
Sapling Financial Consultants is seeking an ambitious Analyst to deliver high-quality, impactful work. This role offers the opportunity to deepen financial modelling and data analytics skills, gain hands-on experience with client and business development, and play a significant part in a growing team with ambitious future plans.
Responsibilities
- Build comprehensive financial models covering client companies' operations, capital structure, working capital items, and full financial statements.
- Develop quality of earnings databooks and reports, synthesizing financial, accounting, and operational information for M&A processes.
- Conduct in-depth market, industry, and company research, and develop presentation decks and reports for business plans, valuations, and financial analyses.
- Develop financial and data analyses providing actionable insights to management using data from various systems.
- Develop, manage, oversee, and implement dynamic spreadsheet tools for a range of client needs.
- Build automated Key Performance Indicators Dashboards to identify key business trends and assist with finance strategy.
- Manage client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for additional services.
- Assist with proposals, marketing material development, white papers, blogs, and dissemination of marketing materials as needed.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (commerce, economics, business administration, computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering) or equivalent work experience/projects with a non-related Bachelor's degree.
- Progress towards a professional finance designation (CFA, CPA, CMA, CGA, CBV, FRM) is a strong differentiator.
- Strong computer literacy with advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, SQL or MySQL databases, and programming (C#, VBA, Python, R) is welcomed but not required.
- Intellectual curiosity and passion for learning about new industries, businesses, and technical skills.
- 0-1 year of experience in management consulting, private equity, valuations, or corporate finance is a differentiator.
- Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and see them through to completion.
- Ability to work independently and manage time and multiple tasks/deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong dedication to the team and excellent work ethic.
- Enthusiasm for going above and beyond to ensure client success.
- Desire to contribute to the firm long-term, with recognition for loyalty and hard work.
