About the Role

This role provides accounting support and management of the accounts receivable portfolio, aiming to minimize credit risk, maximize cash flow, and build strong stakeholder relationships. You will ensure the smooth operation of the accounting function through accurate financial record-keeping and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly billing to airlines and other key customers, raising ad hoc invoices and credit notes.
  • Manage customer credit limits, controlling credit risk and bad debts.
  • Monitor cash receipts and ensure accurate posting to customer accounts.
  • Obtain all relevant financial documentation including remittances and backups.
  • Ensure payments are received on time and according to agreed payment terms.
  • Respond to and raise queries promptly for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop customer relationships and establish effective ways of working.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels.
  • Carry out month-end and weekly deliverables and duties.
  • Support the team with treasury management and audit processes.
  • Maintain accurate customer account reconciliations and sales ledger.
  • Provide insights, data, and reporting to key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects, analysis, and support the Finance Manager as required.

Requirements

  • Relevant accounts receivable experience in a similar role or a recent Graduate in Finance.
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data handling, and analysis.
  • Knowledge of mid-range accounting systems/general ledgers (WFS uses Open Accounts).
  • Proactive and confident use of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative to explore issues and generate new ideas and approaches.
  • Ability to be a strong team player while also working autonomously and prioritizing tasks.
  • Must be subject to a background check including a criminal record check, 5-year employment history, and a drug & alcohol test if offered the position.
