About the Role
The Manager, Audit & Assurance role will lead audit and review engagements and various other client service engagements. This position is also responsible to supervise and train assurance staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage and detailed review of working papers for Compilation engagements, Review Engagements and complex audits, ensuring engagements meet established quality and professional standards.
- Review of all planning documents and leadership of planning meetings.
- Accountability for engagement completion, communicating all deadlines internally and with clients.
- Monitor engagement budgets, billings, and recovery, addressing issues proactively.
- Review complex personal and corporate tax returns.
- Ensure notes from partner review, tax review, and quality control are cleared in a timely manner.
- Prepare cash-flows and related analysis when necessary.
- Stay current with changes to accounting standards, auditing standards, and tax regulatory requirements.
- Obtain and maintain a strong understanding of clients businesses and respond promptly to client needs.
- Lead and supervise team members, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
Requirements
- Completion of CPA designation.
- 6 years of progressive experience in a public accounting practice focused in Audit and Assurance.
- IFRS experience.
- Experience managing team members and reviewing files from start to completion.
- Expert knowledge in Caseware/Caseview, Tax Prep and MS Excel.
- Experienced application of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
