About the Role
The Security Officer is responsible for positively impacting the safety and security of company assets, including guests and Team Members, while maintaining guest satisfaction and supporting casino core values. The position will demonstrate excitement and provide World Class Service by delivering Old-World Hospitality and Charm while enforcing the Responsible Gaming Plan and adhering to Internal Control Procedures.
Responsibilities
- Attends daily briefings and meetings, being on time and participating positively.
- Ensures smooth operation of the Security Department by following policies and procedures, adhering to and enforcing the Responsible Gaming Plan, and complying with Internal Control Policies and Procedures.
- Writes clear and concise reports containing only factual information.
- Responds to non-routine incidents, taking appropriate actions and making proper notifications.
- Performs currency transports in accordance with casino procedures.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Communicates with other security personnel via two-way radios using established "10-codes".
- Ensures quick, fair, and consistent resolution to customer complaints.
- Safeguards property assets.
- Administers CPR in First Aid situations.
- Adheres to all aspects of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program and its regulations, including Title 31 Cash Transactions, Suspicious Activity Reporting, and Customer Identification requirements.
- Ensures the integrity of gambling, banking, count room, and cash handling procedures.
- Handles confidential information, reports, incidents, and materials properly.
- Ensures communication within the department, sharing information with Team Members.
- Informs the Security senior management team of information necessary for efficient casino operation.
- Delivers Old-World Hospitality and excitement, living the company core values.
- Conducts themselves in a gracious, kind, and warm manner, creating a sense of fondness, as well as a professional, courteous, and responsive manner that reflects positively on the company and its core values.
- Performs other duties as assigned by department and/or company management.
- Attends required training sessions.
- Performs duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Ensures minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Maintains knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to their department.
- Maintains knowledge of the property’s programs to address problem gambling.
- Consults with appropriate individuals and maintains an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.
- Takes appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and reports such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
- Reports any acts of wrongdoing by any Team Member that they have knowledge of.
Requirements
- Must have the ability to regularly walk and work on feet to complete assigned shifts; talk and hear.

- Must have the ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

- Must have the ability to resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- Must demonstrate leadership and fairness in dealing with guests and Team Members.
- Must possess the ability to instill a sense of pride and personal responsibility in staff.
- Required to be flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate.
- Required to be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, instructions, and correspondence/memos.
- Ability to author reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or staff, guests, and the general public.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Required to provide a current certificate of completion of the New York State Division of Criminal Justice (DCJS) 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training.
