About the Role
MCR is seeking an Assistant General Manager to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and friendliness, ensuring a positive experience for guests and a productive environment for the team. This role involves daily supervision, training, and operational oversight to maintain product consistency and quality.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily walks of guest rooms and public spaces to ensure friendly service, cleanliness, and proper equipment function.
- Inspect all rooms daily, verifying adherence to cleanliness standards.
- Provide one-on-one training to new team members on service and checklist expectations.
- Supervise Guest Service team members to ensure friendly service and guest needs are met.
- Greet guests with a smile and provide supervision during peak check-in/check-out times and meal periods.
- Foster an environment of happy team members and happy guests.
- Assist in completing required inventory counts.
- Support the onboarding process for new team members.
- Oversee team member time clock punches and adherence to policy.
- Complete Daily Summary and Night Audit processes.
- Start and complete shift handover reports on each shift, uploading required daily reports.
- Ensure all purchases follow the correct purchase order process and invoices are submitted through the approved accounts payable system.
- Ensure all invoices are processed and/or accrued to the proper time period.
- Oversee adherence to brand standards and conduct self-audits.
- Certify fire and life safety inspections are current and correct any deficiencies.
- Review service or delivery failures and ensure proper escalation.
- Confirm preventative maintenance tasks have been performed and checked for quality.
- Ensure team members adhere to established work schedules and cover open department head positions when necessary.
Requirements

- Must lead team members to provide friendly service with a smile to guests.
- Must meet the legal age to serve alcoholic beverages (at select properties).
- A valid Driver's License is required.
- Basic market knowledge.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be willing to work a varied schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Regularly required to stand or remain in a stationary position for long periods.
- Regularly required to type, operate computers and other office machinery, perform data entry, dial a telephone, and manipulate objects.
- Regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch, lift and transport supplies up to 25 pounds.
- Regularly required to move throughout the hotel and rooms.
- Regularly required to inspect and visually observe details at close and long range.
- Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.
- Must be able to read and interpret documents in English.
- Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
- Must be able to speak effectively in English before groups.
- Must be able to read and interpret business records and statistical reports in English.
