About the Role

SkyWater is hiring an Equipment Maintenance Technician specializing in Diffusion to contribute to manufacturing U.S. made semiconductors essential for modern life, including automotive safety, medical devices, and consumer electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment according to plans, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Utilize test and diagnostic equipment to identify root cause problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform preventive and unscheduled maintenance on production equipment.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation for quality standards.
  • Rebuild equipment and sub-assemblies as needed.
  • Perform equipment modifications as directed by engineers.
  • Participate in maintenance or cross-functional teams (e.g., 5S+, CIP).
  • Take ownership of small projects and equipment assembly tasks.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors.
  • Manage chemical and gas handling processes.
  • Maintain critical spares and consumables inventory.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in an Equipment Maintenance role within the Semiconductor industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in electro-mechanical/fluidic circuit troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and equipment modification.
  • Capable of demonstrating analytical troubleshooting methods (Root Cause Analysis, 8D Problem Solving, 5-why) and First Time Right repair skills.
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures, demonstrating attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Ability to define, initiate, manage, and execute projects to improve tool function and metrics.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, prioritize tasks, and plan for maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools including wrenches, calipers, voltage/current meters, oscilloscopes, and other specialized tooling.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Ability to work with and around chemicals.
  • Ability to wear complete fab attire for an entire shift and meet all safety and cleanroom requirements.
