About the Role

This position is for a 4-month intern / co-op term within KPMG's Advisory, Management Consulting team in Toronto, starting in Winter (January) 2027. Positions are available across various service lines including Operations, Healthcare Solutions, Digital Healthcare Solutions, Finance Transformation, Corporate Citizenship, Supply Chain, Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), and Technology Strategy & Transformation (TST).

Responsibilities

  • Support clients in the Financial Services, Public Sector, and Energy and Natural Resources sectors with strategic planning, growth & omni-channel strategy, Target Operating Model (TOM) design, process improvement/redesign, cost optimization/value realization, and accounting/regulatory change programs.
  • Help clients perform current situation assessments/diagnostics, visioning/target state design, develop roadmaps, and support implementation.
  • Facilitate collaboration between governmental levels and foster public-private partnerships to drive innovation and develop intellectual capital for an integrated health ecosystem.
  • Redesign care systems across regional health ecosystems, promote operational excellence for improved care quality and outcomes, and support health workforce stability and adaptation.
  • Leverage digital innovation to help healthcare organizations improve patient outcomes, enhance operational efficiency, and navigate regulatory complexities.
  • Provide services such as digital strategy development, data analytics, cybersecurity, and technology implementation within the healthcare sector.
  • Collaborate with CFOs and other finance leaders to maximize the finance function's performance and empower them to become insightful business partners.
  • Drive strategy and implementation across finance operations optimization, target operating model redesign, financial technology transformation, and regulatory compliance transformation.
  • Develop clients into responsible and ethical corporate citizens through government compliance, maintaining a healthy and safe workforce, and positive social impact.
  • Focus on areas including accessibility, workforce well-being and culture, ethical and sustainable supply chain, social impact strategy, and measurement.
  • Assist clients in managing supply chains to accelerate corporate growth strategies, increase operational efficiency, and offer new and differentiated value.
  • Empower finance functions to become more insightful and true business partners.
  • Advise clients on how new technology will impact their business and deliver innovative end-to-end digital transformation.
  • Define digital transformation vision, develop tailored technology strategies, align IT assets to be more customer-centric, and create and execute implementation plans that drive business value.
  • Support general project management and oversee the planning, scheduling, and completion of targets and engagements, asset development, and other initiatives.

Requirements

  • Senior Consultants usually join Management Consulting with at least 3 years of work experience, coming from an MBA, PhD, MD, JD, or other advanced degree program.
  • Senior Consultants are expected to be able to come into the Management Consulting team and immediately make a significant impact.
  • Those coming from undergraduate degrees or master’s degrees with less than 3 years’ work experience should consider applying for the Consultant position.
  • Highly motivated individual, enthusiastic about taking on a variety of obstacles and opportunities.
  • Strong academic record from undergraduate or master’s degree and/or relevant professional experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional maturity.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and build relationships with a diverse group of clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to take an active role in coaching and developing junior colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity to identify a clear path forward.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong sense of personal accountability.
  • Proven track record of successfully dealing with multiple priorities and deadlines under pressure.
