About the Role

Diamond Packaging is seeking a full-time Printing Press Operator for their Printing Department. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and accuracy of printed packaging solutions.

Responsibilities

• Review folder and plate contents for correct ink color and type.
• Complete line clearance procedures and documentation.
• Continuously monitor sheets throughout the run to maintain quality.
• Verify correct quantity is run to satisfy customer needs.
• Purge the area of related materials.
• Maintain a clean machine and surroundings according to company policies.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in a sheet-fed shop on multicolor equipment with a coater.
• Shift flexibility is required.
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of the printing process.
• Ability to decipher color variance.
• Must have Color Blindness Ishihara Testing.
• Heidelberg experience is preferred.
• Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation.
• Good attendance record and ability to work any shifts needed.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in and as a team with all employees.
• Ability to set up all feeder adjustments (double sheet detector, squeeze up headstops, etc.).
• Able to mount printing plates on units and register color to color.
• Demonstrates quality awareness.
• Understanding of wash-up on press.
• Knowledgeable of console operation and press computer.
• Able to work overtime when needed.
