About the Role
This role is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within the hotel, ensuring the upkeep of guestrooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. You will manage both daily maintenance tasks and larger capital projects to maintain the hotel's appeal and functionality.
Responsibilities
- Schedule, direct, and follow up on maintenance projects to ensure completion.
- Ensure availability and organization of tools and equipment.
- Oversee proper use and storage of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) and other equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.
- Lead, manage, and communicate information about capital projects and property rehabilitation.
- Communicate with hotel department heads to identify maintenance needs and respond to requests.
- Hire, train, evaluate, and lead all maintenance staff.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of management or supervisory experience in a hotel.
- Experience with HVAC, electrical, carpentry, dry walling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
- Ability to perform in a high-paced environment with multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to effectively respond to emergencies.
- Willingness to be on call at all times, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
