About the Role
The Senior Lead Engineer, Systems/Applications designs, integrates, and manages complex systems over their life cycles, engaging in disciplines like requirements engineering, reliability, logistics, testing, and maintainability for successful system development and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions in multiple domains.
- Participate in project planning and scheduling.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers.
- Review, interpret, and potentially negotiate customer requirements/specifications and provide customer feedback.
- Lead the deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.
- Proactively promote industry best practices.
- Manage relationships with key vendors/partners.
- Research systems ideas and draw up plans for these systems.
- Design, modify, and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs.
- Test, simulate, and measure the performance of systems, including troubleshooting.
- Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations.
- Solve complex problems.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
- Analyze and interpret data and information.
- Recommend system modifications.
- Create reports and documentation.
Requirements
- Duties are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
